DERMAPEN MICRONEEDLING

Dermapen microneedles penetrate your skin, they cause microscopic depressions. This means that you will hardly feel any pain as the needles puncture through the skin’s surface. In the process, the production of collagen and elastin that repair your skin is stimulated and released.

While downtime varies from person to person, most patients experience mild redness and swelling for up to 24-48 hours following the treatment. However, most patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Patients can apply mineral make up as a breathable camouflage to cover any redness in the first 24 hours.

Microneedling is considered safe. The treatment is not suitable for pregnant, breastfeeding or people who have keloid scarring or are immunocompromised with delayed wound healing.

Side effects are rare, and when they do occur, they seldom last for more than 48 hours. You may see some redness of the skin on the pierced area after treatment, stinging, itching and tightness of the skin which should subside within a couple of hours.

The results of dermapen treatment vary from person to person based on their skin type, age, and the severity of the condition being treated. However, most patients notice improvement in the appearance of their skin within a week or two of the first treatment. Typically, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended for optimal results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
