FINE LINES & WRINKLES
Fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin are natural parts of aging. Fine lines are created when you continue to make the same facial expressions — leading to repeatedly contracting muscles. With continued contracting of those same muscles, the fine lines mature and turn into deep wrinkles that become permanent. Wrinkles are deeper, more prominent lines and are much harder to reduce the appearance of. In short, think of fine lines as the precursor to wrinkles.
As we age, our skin loses its volume and elasticity due to the decreased levels of collagen and elastin. The severity and formation of fine fines and wrinkles in an individual depends on genetic tendency, skin phototype, exposure to environmental factors and lifestyle (i.e Smoking). Therefore, it is important to take care of our skin and protect it from harmful environmental factors to prevent premature aging.
Deeper lines or furrows on then other hand are classified as dynamic or static. Dynamic line appear with movement of the facial muscles, whereas the static line are unchanged with muscle movement. Eventually, with time dynamic lines will become statin lines.
Forehead lines or worry lines occur due to contraction of the frontalis muscle when raising the eyebrows.
Frown Lines are the lines between our eye brown and these are due to contraction of corrugator supercilii muscles and procerus muscle when concentrating or angry.
Crow's feet are lines around the eyes and are due to smiling and activity of the eyelid muscles (orbicularis oculi).
