MILIA

Milia are small, harmless, keratin-filled cysts that usually appear on the face, particularly around the eyes and cheeks. They can also form on other parts of the body. Despite their appearance, milia are not acne and are not a result of clogged pores. They do not usually hurt and are normally harmless, although many people seek milia removal due to the cosmetic appearance of the milia.

Key Characteristics:

  • Appearance:  Small, white or yellowish bumps, often resembling whiteheads.

  • Size: Typically 1-2 millimetres in diameter.

  • Location: Commonly found on the cheeks, nose, forehead and around the eyes.

Treatrment of Milia is not available via NHS as it is considered cosmetic. At Astounding Skin Aesthetics we understand the discomfort and self-consciousness that milia can cause. That's why we offer fast and painless removal using electrosurgery with Hyfrecator.

The procedure is quick and straight forward with no downtime and is unlikely to leave a scar. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care and achieving excellent results.

Dr Chowdhury will inspect your skin during the consultation and confirmed the diagnosis before attempting to remove it. He won't perform the removal if he doesn't deem it is safe to do so. A topical numbing cream is applied to numb the skin and minimise discomfort during treatment.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please contact us. We look forward to helping you achieve the look you desire!
