BOCOUTURE®
BOCOUTURE® ® is an innovative Botulinum type A formulation in which complexing processes have been removed by a purification process. It’s a newer product compared to BOTOX® and is generally used for cosmetic purposes, although it also has some medical applications.
BOCOUTURE® is a prescription-only medication that is intended for intramuscular injection. It is a neurotoxic protein that is used to relax the facial muscles. It is used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow’s feet lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and in the treatment of hyperhidrosis in adults under the age of 65. It contains the active substance Botulinum toxin type A.
The active constituent in BOCOUTURE® is a protein complex, derived from Clostridium botulinum. Intramuscular injection prevents the release of acetylcholine, preventing muscular contraction of the targeted area.
BOCOUTURE® is often considered a ‘purer’ form of Botulinum Toxin as it does not contain the additional proteins found in Botox, making it less likely to cause allergic reactions.
